Manual or electric pallet truck — which do I need?
Distance and hours decide it. For short moves at a loading bay or a few pallets a day, a hand pallet truck is cheaper to buy and has almost nothing to go wrong. Once operators are pushing loads across a warehouse floor all shift, up ramps, or moving heavy pallets repeatedly, an electric pallet truck pays for itself in speed and in backs that don’t ache.
What weight can a hand pallet truck take?
Most warehouse hand pallet trucks are rated for two to three tonne, and the rating is stamped on the plate. Fork length matters as much as capacity — standard forks suit a standard pallet; a longer fork is needed for double-length or non-standard pallets.
What is the difference between a pallet truck and a pallet jack?
Nothing — they are the same tool. “Pallet jack” and “pump truck” are simply other names for a hand pallet truck. If a supplier is charging more for a “jack”, ask why.
Do you repair pallet trucks?
Yes. Hand pallet trucks usually need seals, wheels or a pump rebuild; electric units add motor, controller and battery work. We service and repair any brand, on site or in our workshop. See repairs & servicing.
